Preference for falcons
Managing director Giel Van Haecke has had an exceptional interest in nature since childhood. His great fondness for falcons prevails to this day. Breeding, training and hunting with these exceptional birds whetted his appetite for a ‘better level‘.
Breeding programme with good racing and hunting falcons
Our breeding programme originated from a selection of quality falcons, which after several seasons had grown into superb specimens. We still carry out rigorous selection so that only the strongest genes are passed on to future generations. Thus, we continue to build on our breeding stock that meets the stringent requirements of our customers.
Genetics, breeding, hunting & competitive flying
Every day, we offer the best care to our falcons. Yet we observed that their menu of quality frozen prey items could not match the hunting menu of a falcon in the wild. Thus, this menu was insufficiently adequate to meet the best standards in terms of health, breeding, hunting, and racing performance. This scientific fact got us thinking.
High-quality products
With this insight, we went to Group Lataire, a manufacturer of pet food and supplements. The company works with nutritionists from the pigeon racing world, a vet and a nutritional engineer, among others. Through our network, we knew the company was distinguished by years of experience and product knowledge. Moreover, they use only high-quality raw materials to achieve a high-quality end product.
Group Lataire was triggered by our vision and willing to innovate with us. Our collaboration made it possible to improve the overall fitness of our falcons and their sporting performance. Through our expertise and Group Lataire’s know-how, we arrived at a successful nutritional plan.
Cognitive skills & performance difference
During the development phase for Falcon Pro, various nutrients for breeding, hunting and racing were tested and adapted. By administering the right supplements, in the right proportion and at the right time, we find that responsiveness increases, performance improves and our falcons are fitter and more vital.
Alert chicks
Based on our findings, we developed a modified supplement scheme, aimed respectively at improved breeding performance, increased hunting performance and optimal racing condition. However, the first important link in the process is to provide the parent animals with the right nutrients, such as animal proteins, amino acids, herbal tinctures, vitamins and minerals. This way, we increase the chances of a healthy, strong and alert falcon chick.
